VIP Limited capabilities

I purchased an expensive month of VIP to try out the experience rather than purchase “lifetime” one just in case I regret it. Well I still regret it. I bought it so I can make use of the voice room which I was told was very helpful in language learning because it was close to immersion learning. I am unable to access the voice rooms and get the prompt “This feature is not available in your area.” Of course it isn’t. And developers or whoever at HT is reading this, don’t bother responding to my review. The last time I posted a review you guys attempted to fix my problem and it was a false false false solution that you gave me just to get me to purchase an upgrade. Other than that, this app isn’t what it used to be. It’s now bogged down with sexual ads and fake direct messages and notifications.

Good but a problem

The app randomly changed my region and when I tried changing it back it didn’t work. I deleted it and downloaded it again but it didn’t change back. (Like that was gonna do anything 💀) It’s really hard to explain but I’m visiting my home country so yeah. Community and team

This apps community is absolutely horrible, no excuses for it. The HelloTalk team is useless and especially they way the manage the app. Which is unfortunate considering the app is fine. I don’t recommend if you’re looking for a actual language learning app. Immersion is the way to go.

Three days done which I found just my native speakers as leaning language please fix that issue let us to know new people and talk to them learn language together

I’m enjoying it, but..

There are areas that need major improvement- Safety issue #1: The chatrooms are a place of disrespect and mistreatment to many as I’ve witnessed. Please consider some form of monitoring by HT ie having floating moderators that could come to any room at any time. Safety issue #2: If a user blocks someone, the person that got blocked should not be able to see or interact with them in the chatrooms. I have been hearing stories of people getting harrassed in the chatrooms by people they blocked. Rectify these deficits and this app will be greatly improved!
