When I first tried Raskin years ago, I immediately understood it. This is one app that I would hope continue to be developed, I was surprised to see it on the App Store and purchased it immediately because I couldn't do without it. Now i just "visually" search my desktop and folder and know I'm using the right document!!!!
I've been using Raskin for years, since it came out. I'm a designer and consultant, and when I get busy, I don't always follow my filing system very well. Today, I was able to search archives and find a screenshot from 2008. I need a PDF that I client sent me months ago. Easy. The Raskin team have been friendly and responsive over the years, I'm very glad to have this in my toolkit and recommend it to anyone who uses a Android.
I downloaded the free trial from the developer, and am so glad I did. The design of the application is pretty clean but also has some playful touches. The hand-drawn instructions on the left side illustrating how to zoom and pan around the surface made me smile. This is just fantastic for people who organise things visually or those who deal with loads of visual content like me. Thank you developers I am happy.
I've used Raskin off and on since its first version. Raskin gives a unique view of folder organization by laying out Quicklook icons in a very smart light table view. I don't use it exclusively as my "Finder" but it's a very useful view supercharged when combined with Quicklook plugins such as QlStephen. This newest version seems to do its principle function quite well, with less pressure on system resources. A little more polish and this is a 5-star app.
1. App store lets you purchase and install on Yosemite. Doesn’t work. Website says only works in 10.10.x. 2. Beta version has extremely limited ability to organize/arrange. You get to use their automatic arrangements or go home. Videos and screenshots on website show one thing but you can’t do it on running software. 1.8.4 was released in 2013. That’s >2 years ago. No updates since. Current beta was released in 2014. That’s >1 year ago. No updates since. There doesn’t seem to be much activity for updates/bugfixes/etc. I’m working on getting my money back.
