  • i love pestle, but have suggestions/requests

i wish i could make ingredient sections within a recipe (ex, marinade, dredge, topping, serve with), kinda like you can make sections in the steps section and name them. not everything needs a whole recipe in my “book” but it would be nice to see what ingredients are used in which parts of the recipe. i also wish i could add a quantity ahead of an inserted recipe. for now it seems you can only insert a recipe to click through to, but you have to add a new line to the list with the quantity and ingredient (so the ingredient would be listed once as a click through and then listed again, without the link, to say how much of it to use) it would be really cool to be able to upload recipes from emails or pdfs, but they’re easy enough to copy and paste in, and the app does a good job of individualizing the ingredients if you paste the whole list into the ingredients section, but would be nice to paste a whole recipe that has labeled ingredient and steps sections already in just one go. the steps and title need to be pasted separately the setting to keep your screen from going dark while looking at a recipe doesn’t seem to work for me. i might be doing it wrong, but it would definitely be nice to have my phone stay lit and unlocked while mid cooking, so i can see the next step i definitely love the app over others i’ve tried and have the pro version simply because i wanted to keep more recipes and to share a household with my sister. the other pro features don’t seem worth it to me, but it’s definitely an app i love and use daily. i only hope to see it getter better with time

  • Great bit missing features.

Such great integration with iOS but needs improvement. Could benefit from meals being assigned to breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc. Needs a leftovers option. Quite a few website were unable to be translated. Sorting ingredients by category would be helpful. Calendar integration is wonderful but I’d like a separate pestle calendar that I could turn on and off. Love what’s available but gas a lot of room to grow.

  • Revolutionary

I cook a lot of new recipes that I find on the internet. It drives me crazy how many recipe sites and food blogs and nearly unreadable because of all the ads… Pestle let’s me bypass that and I love it. You just go to a recipe in safari, and share it to pestle. You get everything you need from the webpage, without any of the annoying nonsense.

  • Very helpful

So far the app has proven to be very useful. The recipe extraction of flawless so far. I have started a new home bar as a personal project and cocktail & drink recipe collection has been a breeze. Mixing the drinks with the "cook function” allows for simple mixing. The meal planning area has also been getting a lot of use. It has helped with this goal tremendously. Definitely give it a try. You won’t regret it.

  • Never works

This is this biggest waste of money anyone could ever be tricked into. This app is useless. Now when I try to save a recipe it says “we couldn’t looked <sic> up the logged in user.” Perhaps the dev could take my lifetime subscription fee and get some English lessons too. Loser.
