Paid for app early on. Now required to pay again - and “ongoing”

I purchased your app a few years back. Now it wants me to pay...again...and worse, on an ongoing subscription basis. When I wrote the company, I was offered a one-year promo code. The issue I have is, I “paid for the app.” Not a one-year access, but an app purchase. I need to be reinstated, aka grandfathered. Your company’s decision to change their business model should not penalize original purchasers who supported you - original purchasers like myself should be grandfathered. I personally find that very misleading to your early supporters.
