I looked at so many fitness tracker apps looking for a quad skating option. This app is great! Very accurate in mileage and speed. I also love that I can replay my skates, see my fastest mile, and track my mileage over months. 215 Miles in August, 290 Miles during a lovely Skatember. I pay for very few apps, but this is one of them! My only small complaint is the calories burned, I know aren’t anywhere close to correct. I’ll have skated 15 miles and it’ll say I’ve only burned ~800 calories. Maybe if I had an Google watch and the app could track my heart rate as well, the calorie estimation might work better for me. Also, I think this is the only app I’ve ever written a review for. Ha! All in all, it’s a fantastic app. I use it for hiking as well, but mostly I use it while roller skating trails, streets, and urban landscapes.
Most sports apps won’t capture distance skating. Love that this gets it right; also gives top speeds
The app regularly records my top speed as occurring the moment I begin recording, often when I’m completely stationary. It did accurately record my top speed once in the middle of a skate, every other time it’s been the moment of activation. I don’t know if it has something to do with using the free version instead of paid. I’ve also noticed the speed indicated by green or red is often inaccurate, showing orange or red when I was traveling downhill and picking up speed instead of green as expected. Not sure what’s causing those issues.
I know I’m extremely nit-picking, but I have to put my exercises for roller skating (quad skating) as in-line skating and it really gets me slightly irritated. But, the features really blow me away so I don’t mind! I would like a Rollerskating (Quad) feature. Also I like to go bowling and I don’t see any tracker for that. :(
This app is perfect for what I need. It has a bunch of different options for what activity you want to track, including skateboarding, which is what I use the most. It gives you a little map of your session at the end, with distance, time, top speed, estimated calories burned, etc. And this is all in the free version! Super glad I found this one.
