NETGEAR Orbi for Android

Hopefully this helps others. I was finally able to connect to my router after trying many things unsuccessfully. Click the top-left icon in the app. I think it’s a cloud. Click settings. Click Security. Then sign-in using your Netgear account. I then went back to the “home” screen and clicked reconnect. Netgear needs to fix this.

Had to disconnect when the old app worked for an unrelated problem. Downloaded the app again n now will not recognize the router or satellite or Wi-Fi name, but do have Wi- Reached out

I’ve had the rather VERY expensive Orbi RBR50 system and find that it routinely drops connections altogether or drops speed to the point that, for example, streaming fails even on my fiber-optic gigabit service. The app itself pushes Netgear subscriptions that cost much more than they’re worth, which other brands includes for free with their NOT very expensive routers. It also seems to have activated parental controls against my choices and provides no way to turn it off. Further, there’s not enough information provided in the app to make option choices clear, leading me to inadvertently pause devices in an attempt to turn off the aforementioned parental controls. The device works well enough when it works, but it stops working so often that I’m getting rid of it as soon as I have time.

Lacks simple security features… can’t disable SSID broadcast… I know that disabled SSID broadcast does not prevent motivated hackers from detecting the SSID, but 99.99% of my neighbors are not sitting around with wireless packet capture. Now I’m forced to advertise my network too everyone… WHY???

The app cannot show the devices for access control and always give a message that it cannot reach the server. We have to always go to the login page of the router and set the access from there. This prevents remote maintenance.
