Desktop app stopped working since April 25 2022

I have been using the desktop app since 2020, but just a few weeks back it started hanging and causing weird behaviour in other apps like Slack and Chrome. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall a few times, but it hasn't helped

use browser instead

this desktop app is pure garbage and a waste of space. i was hoping this would have more of a native feel to it but it somehow is clunkier and a worse experience. signin challenge that pops open the browser is flawed and takes several attempts. uninstalling the app was the only way to use it. im not a google fan but sure makes me appreciate google docs
