While not intended to replace incomparable guru-sishya ambience and relationship, this App is brought to you with the intent of enabling refinement and honing of musical skills, at one’s own pace and chosen time. This App, “Gurukula” presents lessons in Carnatic vocal music staring from the elementary lessons and gradually building up towards more complex musical genres such as kriti-s and varnams and also manodharma sangeetam, kalpanaswara, alapana, neraval, tanam and pallavi. Also included are relevant theory lessons on various key aspects of music training. The lessons are presented by noted musician and scholar Prof. Mysore Nagamani Srinath in an interactive manner with her students to enable ease of learning and repetition..
