Amazingly fluid app! But its search engine is shadowed by the amazingness of the rest of the app. 1- It contains tags to add to images, but they are so poorly used that you almost never rely on them. The artworks only contain a few (normally useless) tags in them, making it virtually impossible to find them by tag. For example, imaging a scenery containing mountains, a farm field, and a male character looking up the sun. In this example, one could expect to search it by tags “mountain”, “farm”, “name of the character”, “male”, “looking up”, etc. When in practice it would only contain the tag “farm” (almost useless). Thats how “well” tags are used. There are alternatives online that put pixiv in the dirt in this regard. Come on, never heard of “machine learning” bruh? Automate this… 2- Searching for artists is terrible. You either know the artists name, or their id number, or you better give up and look up on google because google does a better job. Want to search artist by id (say, some_artist_with_japanese_name_but_english_id)? Too bad, you cant. This makes it awful for people without japanese keyboard or even knowledge of japanese. 3- Searching by date is horrendous. Lets say you want to search stuff from this month. You go and set the start and end date in the search filter, and cool, it does it! Lets now say you now want to move to the previous month (or period). Instead of having just a button for this, you have to manually reselect the dates. Such a hasle. Just my opinion and advice, but fix these and the app will be EVEN MORE amazing!
