This a a great Bible App!
Yea
This is helpful and straightforward. Easy to understand
God’s name is primarily used in the Old Testament & frequently. The use of the Hebrew spelling, Yahweh, in an all English Bible, is ridiculous & only serves to mislead the reader. It’s been said that this is the most accurate spelling & that out of respect for the divine name, the English spelling, Jehovah, should be avoided. However, this is flawed reasoning. The purpose of having the Bible in your own language is to promote understanding. Who uses Hebrew words in their lives? No one, unless you’re Jewish! Furthermore, Yahweh cannot possibly be the correct spelling because the vowel between the two consonants, H & W, is missing. You must have the consonant letters separated by a vowel. Many people do not know that God has a personal name. Is Jehovah the absolute correct spelling & pronunciation? No one knows for sure. But, it’s considered to be a reasonable way to identify the NAME in English, the main language for the world instead of disguising it, actually obscuring it, in the Hebrew language.
