this app no longer works. no support, no help...
Luma was sold to another company and they let this die.
Not even an email or alert for the customers.
As others have mentioned, Luma as a company no longer exists. First Alert bought them in January of 2018 and promptly stopped releasing new firmware updates. Just a week before they announced the aquisition of Luma, First Alert released their own mesh WiFi system. I suspect Luma was bought for their intellectual property and/or engineering staff, and that First Alert had no intention of supporting the Luma system. In the last few weeks my Lumas APs have been constantly dropping WiFi connectivity. One minute my phone is online and getting 300 Mbps on a speed test, the next minute it has no WiFi and I can’t even see my SSID, the next minute I’m back online. I called First Alert customer support and they said, “after 3-5 years your Luma devices are nearing the end of their life.” What? These things are all solid state components, why would they suddenly stop working? It’s more likely that First Alert is no longer interested in spending money supporting Luma and fixing problems. But hey, he did pitch me on buying First Alert’s own mesh WiFi system. Fool me once...
Ever since luma was bought out, there has been a lack of updates for the hardware and app. You’re better off with a well known router brand like Netgear, linksys, google, etc.
