I love how easily the scan works to add books to my catalog. It’s not 100% but it gets the vast majority quickly without problem. Adding tags, additional info, etc is a bit slow but not bad. I do love having my library catalog on the go so when I’m shopping for books I can make sure I’m not accidentally buying a duplicate. The one feature I really wish it had was a ranking system for my To Read collection. I would love to be able to put the books in order that I want to read them so I wouldn’t have to debate which book to start next every time and could just look at the list.
I'm redoing my review and adding a star because the previous glitch was fixed pretty quickly with an update. The app no longer closes after adding every book. Thank you!!! When adding numerous books from a series I still have to redo the same search for the same series every time. I started copying and pasting the same search in so I don't have to retype. A multi-add feature would be a very nice addition for very long series of books. (Other then that) the app is excellent!!! Now I prefer to use this app because it's much less annoying than the website.
I have used this for my classroom library for 7 years now. I have always loved it’s simplicity and does what I need! But when I upgraded to my new Android 14 pro the book scanner to add books to my library doesn’t work. It is blurry and never focuses no matter what I do. It is probably a bug in the software and just needs to be updated. Developers please help! :)
Let me start with my favorite thing: the barcode scanner! I am organizing my husband’s niche non fiction collection which is approaching 1000 books. Yes they have their own room. I was able to scan 90% of them in only a few hours! The rest were published before bar codes were a thing, but searching by isbn wasn’t too painful either! Now for the app deficits: I wish the app had greater capabilities and personalization. On the web I can sort his collection using LOC call number. This is how we’ve organized the physical books in the office. It is so frustrating that I can’t view the books in that order on my phone. I can’t even see the LOC number when I click into a book. I can see it if I try to edit the book info, but that’s a pain. I can’t even change what data I see on the landing page for the book. Because I can get this how I need it on the web browser, I just use that on the computer most of the time but I crave portability and organization that the app does not accommodate.
This app needs to be updated. The ISBN camera scanner function no longer works on the Android 14 Pro. Please update!
