I strongly suspect this was converted from a Windows version. Or otherwise developed with obsolete or non-Android software. It doesn't respond correctly to normal Android keyboard shortcuts and doesn't follow a lot of Android conventions. Look for another implementation of this great puzzle.
I can't get the window to enlarge on my computer. Really frustrating!!
I love playing this puzzle game it is very addicting for me. But where are the updates for new puzzles?????????
This is a good nonogram program and provides variety for experienced players. I don’t recommend it for beginners, who might want to start with Color It Back, which has an on-line tutorial for basic skills. My favorite program is the beautiful Color Cross Collections, which is highly rewarding for medium and experienced players. Because the “hint” function for Nonogramz doesn’t work on the Android (a plus, in my opinion), these programs and Dot to Dot (if it ever comes back) require the higher level thinking of real nonograms. Pros —Offers a range of difficulties including easy puzzles and more challenging puzzles than those available on other on-line programs. --Requires the use of logic and problem-solving skills. —Clever artwork makes it is impossible to guess what you are making until you are done. --no timer, error count or error limits --Provides eraser --Emphasizes the reward of the completed puzzle, encouraging user to take time, experiment, enjoy finished product as reward —relaxing --easy to mark empty squares with dots --User may dim numbers along the side and/or top as each sequence is completed—a great help, especially when several colors are used —Will save your work on uncompleted puzzles —A few puzzles require a trial and error process to determine where on the edge you must begin in order to get a sequence that matches the puzzle. This is fun and becomes rewarding as things suddenly begin to flow. --no locked puzzles (why would any puzzle maker force skilled puzzlers to solve simple puzzles before unlocking challenging ones????) —Images do not fill the entire space as they do in the Color Cross Puzzles, which makes Nonogramz more challenging and fun for advanced players. —Some puzzles make interesting use of negative space —If you are doing a few puzzles at a time, the annoying aspects of the game probably won’t bother you. Cons —The “1000+” number is completely misleading as the same puzzles are done in black and white, two colors, multiple colors—absolutely infuriating —a number of the designs seem to have been “borrowed” from other puzzle-makers—or I saw the same ones on Nonogramz so many times that I thought they were. --no interactive instructions (see the "Color it Back” puzzles if you are just starting) —numbers are smaller than necessary on the large puzzles. I found it hard to distinguish them at times. —the cursor does not count the total number of spaces filled, which can be a difficult thing to figure out for large puzzles with tiny squares (Color Cross does an excellent job with this) —the instructions make no sense —No instructions about how to solve a puzzle by working from one edge until you get a sequence that works. —The whole game cannot be re-set and re-played at a macro level as most others can. To replay the games, you must re-set them one at a time. You can’t even erase the game from Applications and re-download it to re-start puzzles. Note that Nonogramz is designed for use on an Mobile. Glitches on the computer version: —impatient players may not appreciate the fact that the help button doesn’t work as much as I do (there is no help button for real nonogram games) and grid lines are often missing.
