They only take your money, i made 15 quotation with no reply, app take my money but I didn’t hired from any one , I don’t know customer real or not .

On the first day of signs up I was charged $150.00 for leads. Before I could respond to any of them I was deactivate for terms of service violations. Just as bad as HomeAdvisor.

Never know what you paring for leads, drains money by allowing people to ask prices and never respond. Horrible app. Put your money to use with a real service or someone that actually produces leads. Waste of money entirely

If you are going to charge me for a lead then there needs to be some sort of confirmation that the person who is requesting the service is actively interested in my service. If I can’t get a hold of them by phone or through the app, it means they are not interested or it’s false advertisement. Either possibility, I shouldn’t be charged. That’s basically fraud. Even if I don’t get hired, the only way to determine that is by being able to actually communicate with them. Thumbtack used to have a system in place where they would at least refund you the money in credit for future leads if the customer didn’t respond in 48 hours. You would have a little check mark indication at the bottom of your message screen confirming the message was read. I haven’t seen that system in place for a while now. No way to know if the customer read my initial message or not. Seems like a monetarily convenient thing for Thumbtack to eliminate. I understand that we live in a capitalist society but this business model is criminal. If they don’t want to invest money in verifying leads for contractors then please take that money from the person creating the listing. Don’t take it out of my pocket. A ‘lead’ implies that someone is attempting to reach out to hire or at least price shop. I perfectly understand that the lead doesn’t guarantee I get hired but if I don’t have any kind of opportunity to communicate with them then it’s a 100 percent chance that I won’t get hired, even if the price is ideal and I happen to be the best contractor ever. Also, I have no prices posted for the false leads I’m getting. The customers don’t know what my prices are. I charge as a bid, not hourly. So how could the customer know what I’m offering or whether I’m the right contractor for the job without having the necessary information to draw that conclusion? Please do the right thing and fix this issue. Don’t be animals.

I’ve been using this service for a little while. Always paid the lead fee and never complained. I tried to deactivate an account due to personal reasons and still got charged for 4 leads. Called trying to get a refund or simply a credit but the “refund team” refused… really frustrated and not worth using for leads if this is how they treat the people that provide services for customers.
