Why do I need to download a map?

How do I correct incorrect directions? Would be great if we had the ability to look at the specific direction in question in the directions snd point out the error. What is status of allowing Siri to give directions to the app from CarPlay like Google maps, waze and Google Maps

I once owned a version of the Tom Tom navigation app years ago and it was great. There are several significant problems with this current app, the GO version, IMO. One is that I can’t even set my home address. I can set the address of either neighbor on the side but not mine. Even while sitting in the driveway. Another is that there is no indication of what road you are currently on. Major omission. Finally, the directions for the main road through my city as well as a nearby toll road are bizarre. The main road has the same name for probably 125 miles yet instead of telling me that my turn is 6 miles ahead it breaks it down into tiny increments for the no discernible reason then says go straight again and again. Similar for the toll road except the way points are toll booths where you are instructed to keep left then you start over again. What if I want to pay cash and not stay left? Or could care less about the toll booth (as is the case)? But the main problem is that it doesn’t tell me how far to my next turn or exit which is all I really care about. Anyway, I’ll be canceling my trial even though I really wanted frequently updated maps local to my device. Update to developers: The maps were the latest and greatest. One road is 50 that runs across Florida. After exiting onto 50, the road is straight as a string and my only turn is several miles ahead so I expect the app to tell me how far ahead my turn is. Instead, it breaks a straight road with the same name the entire length into a bunch of undiscernable segments with repeating instructions to go straight. Stupid. Update 2 for developers about home address: the issue is that I enter my exact home address, for example, 408 Main St, but it is saved as 412 Main St, my next door neighbor’s address. The app even recognizes my address! Sure, I can get home anyway but that’s ridiculous. Thanks. Works well. The gas station feature doesn’t show major truck stops along the interstates. Not a huge deal but it would be nice to see them.

This thing automatically launches every time I plug into my car. Just takes over and there’s no apparent way to stop it! It’s a decent app, but this is crazy and unacceptable!
