I am not sure if I got an updated version or what, but after deleting and downloading it again, it now works and is continuing to work. It is the fastest download manager I have tried, but it cannot put a browser extension on Safari so it works easier. I have to copy and paste an URL into FatPipe to download it, which takes more time. Also, I should be able to select a location for the downloads to go, but no matter how many times I do so, it ends up in the default Downloads folder. Then I have to copy it to another drive and delete it from the Downloads folder. The best thing about FatPipe is that it is very fast for downloading. But all the extra work I have to do takes away from that. I was liking this app but suddenly, it crashed. Now I cannot get it to open without immediately crashing. I deleted it and reinstalled it and still it crashes upon opening. I clicked on the support and also website, but it takes me to the same page with no support. Looks like I cannot use this. Out of 3 download managers I was trying out, this was the fastest when it worked.
It started up fine. And the seettings seemed to be able to do what i needed it to do. One download at a time. But it keeps crashing on boot up.
I want to love this app because it claims to do everything I need. However I cannot get the password authentication to work. I get an “error: resolving domain” at the “resolving filename…” stage. Unfortuantely there is no support anywhere for the app. The support page is just a link back to the App Store and there is no way to contact the developer. Overall a frustrating experience.
This is one good downloader I would recommend you but I do get “unexpectedly stopped working” errors and download it at your own risk.
Works well for what it is designed to do. Does not have advanced features compared to some other download managers (i.e. Free Download Manager in Windows) but works well enough to download files faster and more reliably than most downloaders built into web browsers. Recommended.
