Anhui Mahjong Solitaire. for Android

Play is good. The look is simple and clean. Others, I have seen are way too busy looking. One semi-annoying function with the User Interface is this. If you select a tile and then change your mind, you should be able to click the selected tile again to de-slect it. But you can’t. So, it sits there with the light effects swirling while you are looking for another pair. Selecting another pair will de-select the highlighted tile. De-selecting a tile is basic functionality for this game and should be there. Otherwise, it’s a very good app.

I have been playing mahjong games since the early 1990’s and have lost track of how many titles I’ve purchased over the years. I recently bought Anhui Mahjong Solitaire Shangai Saga and am truly impressed by the excellent graphics and the mind-boggling number of layouts. Honestly, this app probably has some of the nicest graphics I’ve ever seen in a mahjong game, and the tiles are large and very easy on the eyes. The patterns on the tiles were very well thought out and comfortable to play. The game is responsive, and the sounds are pleasant (and not annoying). I always mute the music in mahjong games, so I can’t speak as to the music offered. Overall, I really am liking this game, however there are a few areas that definitely need tweaked and/or improved. Game improvement suggestions: 1. Needs “save game progress” functionality. Although the game currently doesn’t remember my game progress, it does remember the layout I played last. That part is good, but I’d like to be able to leave a game in progress, and then return to my game later. 2. When in full screen mode, the only way I was able to exit the game is to hit “option+control+esc” to force the menu to appear (as if force closing), and access exit from the menu. I did not see any visible way to easily access an exit command without forcing an exit. 3. When starting the app in windowed mode, the “Play” button will not function. I have to change to full screen mode to get the Play button to work. 4. Needs an easy way to see several layout choices at once, instead of going through all 564 layouts one by one by using the arrow buttons. Overall, I would definitely recommend this app, and it would be nice to see some of the suggested improvements implemented, to make it an even better game!
