After spending weeks trialing Ninox across iOS and Android, I was very hopefully for the software but you simply get zero response from support, the documentation is extremely minimal , fragmented or incomplete which makes it very hard to recommend. Their support forums are some kind of crazy mishmash of multiple bulletin platforms that were merged incorrectly which make them mostly unusable due to missing replies or dead links to other threads that no longer exist. The most hard to swallow pill is direct support: My iCloud sync was not working at all so I recached out via email to support describing the issue. I received an automated email a week later asking how satisfied I was with the support- even though no one had ever responded. That was about a month ago, still no response to address the issue. This is what happens to you as a paid customer of the max app. Aside from this there are also major bugs with iPadOS and keyboard usage - a massive area where a keyboard would be but isn’t. There are also approximately zero key commands for this software which is insane. I just cannot sink any more time into an unsupported platform and that’s really why I can’t recommend it. It’s such a shame because really like how the software functions overall and the price appears to be right. I guess you get what you pay for in relational databases.
Outstanding app. I use it for CRM. Fairly intuitive, although I’m not exploiting all its features. I’m sure I will over time. Syncs with my Android, Mobile Pro and Android seemlessly through iCloud. Worth the hefty price.
This is the best general purpose database I've found both in terms of power and approachability. However, the interface is confusing at best, requiring, in some cases, you learn all about a feature to discover you don't need to use it. On the other hand, there are features, such as their own cloud support, which are absolutely necessary but seem to have been "screwed onto the side" of the existing product instead of integrated in. This has led to our having two databases with different users using the current or old database since both remain available and active. We've lost all semblance of synchronization as a result.
I love the simplicity of Ninox with the possibility of massively complex development allowed if you want to start programming complex behaviors in formulas and triggers, however… Every time there’s been a major update to Ninox, something gets broken that was really basic to my workflow. This last update introduced a “feature” that was billed as being automatic display handling as an improvement when going from one device to another and it seems to work, at least till you start using Google’s own display features like split screen. I don’t know if this happens on all iPads but on my Pro, activating split screen and then any field in Ninox causes Ninox to expand horizontally outside the displayed area. This pushes any fields on the right edge of your Ninox DB outside the field of view and inaccessible to you. This doesn’t go away if you get out of split screen, or if you exit the app. You have to exit the app and enter the multi-app review screen then swipe up on the Ninox icon to completely close Ninox. Once you reopen Ninox, the infighting between Ninox and Google as far as display size is finally resolve. This has completely destroyed the workflow I use where I’m constantly using Ninox in conjunction with other apps, copying and pasting from one app to the other. I’ve contacted Ninox with this and they’ve verified it, indicating that the developer has been made aware, but there’s been two updates since and this problem still is unresolved. Hence this warning to all prospective Ninox users. Ninox is in a growth phase, adding new features rapidly. If the developer did adequate beta testing, this would be wonderful, but as I’ve mentioned above, this is only the latest instance of a new major update breaking previously bulletproof operation. Additional beta testing is highly recommended!
I love Ninox and the app was working well on my Mobile Pro and then they updated the app and now it opens and goes to a black screen after entering data. It is like the window disappears up and to the left leaving a black screen. I tried deleting it and reinstalling it but that didn’t fix it. I was hopeful that an update to the update would fix it but that didn’t work either. I can still use my internet account but I’m bummed the app stopped working.
