Excellent idea, but far too glitchy to be useable. App crashes often, and adding ingredients is a chore.
This was displayed in the app store as having a five star average rating. When you actually look at the reviews, you realize that that can’t be true. This app is a total non-starter. Once you have entered a recipe it disappears. It can’t be searched for, the only place it shows up is in the recent recipes list. You cannot tab from field to field. deleting ingredients or steps is incredibly awkward and tedious. Don’t get this. I want my money back. And I will never believe app store “average ratings” again!
All digital recipe apps force you to invest lots of time and energy, only to be disappointed in the end. This desktop and iOS app are no exception. I’ve run into numerous issues with syncing and displaying the proper recipe information. I also have the experienced the bug where this program kicks you out of typing in your ingredient. It’s super annoying and not fun to use. The developer has tried to work through a few of the bugs, but it’s to the point where this is no longer a viable way to store my recipes. Since upgrading to Android Sierra, the desktop app no longer displays any of my recipes. They’ve all disappeared. I would look else where or use iBooks to store PDF version of your recipes. iBooks seems to be the most reliable way to go in my opinion. Good luck.
I was a little bit apprehensive about this app because of the reviews. At first it was very easy to add ingredients if you click the box to the right of the measuring cup, very laborious if you click all the individual boxes on the left and I could easily add a picture. But after the third recipe or so it would close me out of things I was trying to add - for each ingredient and each instruction. Once I get everything added, I’ll really like having this instead of all that paper. But for sure some bugs need to be worked out as far as the ease of entering information. I haven’t tried to import a recipe.
This app is perfect for uploading your own recipes & photos. I don’t find it to be very user friendly (no “help” menu), BUT I e-mailed customer service multiple times & they responded extremely fast. My issues were resolved quickly I was really impressed and would recommend this app for anyone who wants to store their own recipes digitally.
