Stockfish Chess Reviews

Unable to load pgn file

I was unable to load a pgn file. Some other reviews said that this engine does not support loading PGN files with non-standard start positions, which, if true, I find difficult to believe but maybe it is true. You cannot market a "chess app" that is unable to analyze a particular position of course.

great features for free app

The app works, no ads, no extra features. Still, it works and has stockfish. The app is pleasant to use. Of course, could have more features, but it is free. So 5 stars

Powerful

This is a great app with a powerful chess engine. Two things I'd like to see is the ability to setup custom positions, which is available on the iOS versions fo this app. And when viewing PGN's with vairations, it would be nice to have a UI to choose which variation is next. Currently you have to select the variation in the PGN text field.

Crashes on launch (running 10.14.6)

Dev does not respond to inquiries - briefly flashes like it's pretending to startup then immediately just exits back out. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple times.
