XY Find It for Android

The reviews here over well over 1-2yrs old. Is this app really worth it since it does nothing to increase your odds at making money.

I lost a new hand held Ham radio. I got an cut find it. So next time I loose my radio I can find it. These radios aren’t cheap. The one I lost cost around $450.00. I really like that radio. The only people that can use these radios are the ones that have a Amateur radio license. So, if anyone finds a little radio that’s about the size of a pack of cigarettes let me know. The xy seems like a good concept unfortunately the customer service is really bad. My XY’s shipped with bad batteries. I could not find the exact replacement by number the ones that came with it had HD after the battery number so I don’t know if I have a good battery or not but they are working with the batteries I purchased. CR3032s. In contacting customer service all they want to know is did you do this, did you do that? What they should do is have you send it in. We will check it and get it working and send it back or replace it.

12/7/20 Update -They fixed it! I recently updated the firmware of my gen 4 devices and the app now works as advertised! Amazing - hats off to the dev team making order out of the chaos. Old review : I’ve had a long history with XY Find It using several versions of their device and always hoping that if I bought the next newest version it would fix all the problems in the last one and actually work. At this point I’m giving up all hope in this platform. I’ve opened several support tickets and it’s a complete waste of time, nothing ever comes of it. The problem shows up a few days after setting a few devices up. They just don’t seem to be able to be found or at least the one you’re looking for doesn’t seem to be responsive. Then when you actually find it and press the button on the finder it acts like oh yeah no problem I can connect to your phone, and the phone sees it again. Until a few days later when you actually need it to work again and it doesn’t. After about three or four years of this maybe longer you finally realize this is a complete joke total waste of time and money and should be thrown out.

I have 2 devices. One in my wallet is working ok. The second one on my keychain insists that it’s still on the lake since last week when it’s in my hand & I even pressed the button to get and have it reset. The help page on the app gives a page not found error, the phone number won’t lead to tech support & emails go unanswered. Pricey gadgets for something that refuses to work & insists on wanting me to report it lost. So wish he had bought these from Amazon to get it refunded & replace with something that will work
