Maybe it’s user error. Maybe it’s because the app is not intuitive. I got a new phone and lost all of my data. New screen. As if I had no account. As if I hadn’t purchased dozens of custom drag models. All gone. Clicked on “restore purchases” and got zip, nada, nothing. Tried “web sync” - nope. Good thing I still have my data on StrelokPro and keep hard-copy hand-written notes, but what a waste of time it was to use this app only to lose all of my efforts when I upgraded to a new phone. Thanks for nothing and for wasting my time and money. I realize your drag models are supposedly the gold standard, but your app leaves a lot to be desired in user friendliness. I’ve used maybe half a dozen or more ballistic apps and, overall, my experience with StrelokPro has been much better, and I actually had more hits at varying distances with data from StrelokPro than the data given by AB.
AB has a great name, great books, great book author. Terrible program due to its antiquated interface. This is 2022, Android 13, and the interface feels like something from Android 3. And I paid $40-ish dollars!!!!! (app plus custom drag model for .264). Honestly I haven’t found a good Ballistics app that I really like….some come close like StrelokPro (a strange UI but still okay) and SBC light (needs updated databases for reticle and ammo). I had such high expectation for AB. Very upset I spent money on this.
Bought this to test ballistic solvers and this is the only one that does not let you connect to your Kestrel or weatherflow via Bluetooth. I had high hopes for this app and asked AB if they were going to update the app to connect to Kestrels or WeatherFlows and they have ignored me each time I’ve asked. I cannot recommend this app for what you pay for it. Save your $30.
I spent a lot of time prior in the paid version of Strelok Pro, as well as some time with Hornady 4DOF and Trasol. The Applied Ballistics app in its current incarnation is very familiar if you've wrangled those apps before and have experience in long range shooting. To the average new shooter, a lot will be unintelligible jargon (look angle, sight height, CDM, G7, etc.), but this should feel right at home to anyone experienced. The layout is consistent with generously sized buttons and text, and exposes pretty much everything you would expect to need when planning a shot.
Paid 30.00 for this because I want to email the drop charts and print them. Cards won’t email and customer support solution was to uninstall and re-install. Did that, lost all my data and still can’t get card to email. Tired of companies like this screwing people. Should probably get an attorney to get everyone’s money back.
