First well designed, easy to use, elegant watermarking software that works with Photos. One start off because it does not completely play nice with Photos, but that is Google’s fault that it cannot save to Photos. Google, are you hearing
I wish all apps were made with this kind of refinement. Watermark Sense is a vital part of my workflow as I can utilize valuable IPTC info in a watermark, combine it with my credit line, and process a bazillion images in a snap. And the one time it didn’t do exactly what I needed… The developer added the feature with lightning speed! Thanks a lot guys! :)
I downloaded a free trial version of this app from their webpage. I realized that it didn’t have exactly what I needed. I contacted the developer and requested a feature. Through a series of emails, he made the change that I needed and has told me that he has submitted an update with the Android App store. Very very responsive to his customers!
Very easy to use and lots of flexibility. When I did have a problem, they answered my question quickly and solved it. I also have Resize Sense and use it frequently.
The bulk of my image processing is done in Aperture which is great for almost everything, except the watermark export is rather basic and faulty at times (in properly rendering transparency). I’ve reported the bugs and feature requests but given that Aperture’s fate was probably already sealed a long time ago, nothing ever came of it and I was longing for a good watermark solution for batch export (Photoshop is fine for one-offs). By accident I came across another watermark app which I tried out but the fact that you couldn’t pick custom placement, was a deal breaker out of the gate. So I searched for some watermarking apps on the AppStore and was surprised how many showed up. Hadn’t searched in a while I guess. However, a lot of variety usually comes with different levels of quality. There are tons of cheap garbage apps, whether they are poorly designed and/or perform poorly (as you can read from reviews). Luckily, some of them have a trial/demo version you can download from the developer’s website. I suggest you do that for this app too before you buy. - Essentially, this app is probably the most expensive one in terms of just handling watermarking but for me, it offers all the flexibility I needed, looks professional and performs effortlessly. My main requirement was to be able to custom position the watermark for a select few images while still applying a default location for the bulk of the images. While other apps let you choose custom position (not just corners and sides), they apply it to all images, which is useless. With Watermark Sense, custom positioning works per image. Another nice feature is blend modes, which hardly anyone else offers. I also found smart that they added a bulk-list view mode, so if you have a lot of images, you’re not getting slowed down with thumbnail previews. You can always click on an item to see a preview with the watermark embedded. The only thing I wish would hopefully be adjusted in a future version is that the browser was vertical instead of horizontal. Pretty much any screen has less vertical than horizontal real estate, so the image preview should always be as large as possible vertically. Meaning, the browser should be moved to the side as opposed to the bottom. Aperture allows for such flexibility. Lastly, one note of caution; if you are looking to have your images resized while watermarking, this app will NOT do that. The developer has a separate app “Resize Sense” that supposedly integrates seamlessly if you have both apps installed. Of course, that’s double the price, although they offer 20% discount if you buy both through their website. - For me, this is not really an issue as I just resize my images when I export them out of Aperture. To retain the best quality, I export 16-bit TIF at a certain size from Aperture, import them into Watermark sense and export the final images as JPG from there. All in all, great quailty app, couldn’t be happier to finally have a solid solution!
