My childhood is this.
Ok, so you make an account with email and password, you can go to places by saying “To [say the place]” then you get teleported there, you can also build with so many cool blocks and I’m obsessed with this game
so im a BIG fan of the desktop version, it’s very good and i have limited complaints. the app was like, WOAH, i can finally play it not on my comp??? amazing???? except it’s lowkey bad lol. here’s a couple things: 1/ the LAG. someone has mentioned this before but it can get pretty messy out there. 2/ the overall interface. it’s almost impossible to create some things such as dynamics and stuff while on a phone, the game just REALLY doesn’t allow it and it getsrteal complicated (i have to restart the app like 7 times just to finish making one dynamic). the game isn’t really meant for phone, i know, but there MUST be ways to improve it. 3/ this is a minor complaint but the app doesn’t allow me to listen to music while playing it so i have to literally sit in silence for as long as i’m on the app which can be from ten mins to an hour so that’s a bit of a nuisance. and...yeah! that’s it! overall this game is still lit but there’s definitely some aspects of the app i’d work on fixing. thanks sm! edit: this has nothing to do with the app itself but i just want to say that manyland is truly one of the best browser games out there right now. even if its community is fairly small, i think that it is truly so, so novel in its user-created existence. manyland is the only game i have ever seen that is TRULY user created- i’ve made the most friends, had the most fun experiences, and evolved the most as a person through this game- something that might not have as much of an obvious dev influence (although i am so eternally grateful for philipp and his endless faith and work put into the game) yet still grows better each day. every single (and i mean EVERY SINGLE) obsession i’ve EVER had has come and gone. manyland is seriously the first and perhaps only obsession i have ever not been able to tear myself away from. even when i do have breaks from the game, i never think back on it as a past experience, something that i did and am done with. manyland has always been something i know i can and will come back to- (i made this joke about starbucks recently on the suggestions board) manyland is TRULY eternal. my gratitude can never be truly expressed. i learned how to make pixel art on manyland; i learned how to type fast (lol), how to grasp my ideas and visualize them into things i could be proud of. i had my hate-all-noels phase, and now i strive to rid the community of that illogical hatred. even with the “limitations” of the game, i’ve found that people have managed to make absolutely incredible things- and while on other sites this would have been discouraging and a precursor to me quitting out of frustration and loss of hope, on manyland i am always inspired, encouraged, and certain that i can and WILL do better. i’ve had my artist blocks, and i will have them in the future. but while on other sites i would have quit entirely, on manyland i know that these blocks will not last forever. i stay, i learn, i grow. thank u so much. <3
I really love this game and I have played it for 5 years. I love the whole concept and the creativity aspect is amazing. Unfortunately the amazing game mechanics do not reflect this game’s community. With every creative community there are always leaches and copiers, but this game is the epitome of those type of people. There is this whole war between the type of people I just mentioned ( people refer to them as noels) and people who actually take time to be creative. I understand there is a learning curb to this game but a lot of people who copy and leach have hundreds of days on their account. This may be drastic but I was thinking Manyland just completely get rid of the clonable feature. It would force people to be creative and it would get rid of a lot of little kids who have no patience. The community is not the only problem though, the mobile version of Manyland is horrible compared to the computer version of this game. You can’t even create your own worlds on the phone because the formatting doesn’t fit the screen. Drawing pixels is not a problem, personally I like creating things on the phone version more than going on my pc to do it, but the fact that you can’t even create your own world is absolutely a put off for buying this game. While we are talking about it too, you have to buy this game which is free on your browser, you don’t even include perks for buying the mobile version despite the fact that this game is free on the computer and you can literally go on safari on your phone and play Manyland for free. I’m all for supporting the devs, but why don’t you support the people that buy the mobile version. It’s really sad to see such a good game be poisoned by its community, there must be an effort to fix it, please include perks for buying a free game, and fix the formatting of the phone version of this game. I don’t know if this is a problem for tablet users, but there is definitely a problem for phone users.
So I did try to login into my account. And it failed. Now what. No refunds.
