It has a real Leica feel and great as a point and shoot companion to my Leica M cameras. Love the BW High Contrast filter.
What an amazing image-making tool. Five-star and more. Thank you Leica for putting even more creative power in our hands (and pockets!). đź”´
I’ve been trying the paid Pro version. It has some features I like a lot, and the ability to see some classic Leica lenses and looks is great for visualizing an image. But it has some glitches and one overwhelming shortcoming. I like being able to set the function buttons, but some don’t do anything worthwhile. For example, setting Focus Peaking seems to enable nothing. I realize it’s not the most important thing, but it would be nice to see the relative impact of focus point selection. Also, setting a function button for file format seems to offer no options. I cannot change from HEIF to any other format, and I cannot shoot raw. This is pretty much a deal breaker. That may be a limitation imposed by Google, I don’t know. But not being able to shoot raw is too much to give up in exchange for lens and look styles. There also seems to be no way to connect the Camera Control button to the Leica Lux app. That’s too bad, because I am enjoying that ability in the Camera app.
It seems that Leica, a once great and pedigreed brand, have taken an amazing approach by Fjorden, endeavored to mold it into their own “design language”, at great cost to usability and feature set, and then paywalled the core function. I started the trial, just to cancel immediately when I discovered what a clown show of a photo app this was. 2 seconds of searching will find you better photo apps to spend money with!
Just tried the app on an Android 16 Pro and the photos taken in "Aperture" mode ended up being stuck in a processing state, then half an hour later, after restarting the app the photos were gone all together. Yay! PS: Oh and the "delete" button in the gallery also doesn't seem to work?
