I have been using this app for many many years. It keeps me organized as I can separate my tasks by home, work, volunteer and extended family obligations. Every evening I can move unfinished items to the next day or a future date. Every morning (after coffee) I open the Today list and can see what I need to know, or remember, to plan out my day. I use the recurring task feature to track things like when bills are due and to help me remember upcoming birthdays. I recently had an issue with one of my work lists on my computer version of the app. I sent in a support request and am so amazed and gratified by the quick response and the detailed work of the support team in helping me resolve the issue. They kept at it until the issue was resolved. I couldn’t recommend this app more highly!
I have been using Todo for about 15 years. i’ve also been using Week Cal for about the same length of time. These two apps I use throughout the day, every day … to stay organized. I’ve tried so many different apps and analog forms of to do lists for over 30 years, and I’m not sure how effective I could be on a daily basis without Todo. as soon as they released Todo Cloud, I jumped on it and haven’t looked back. Regardless of what device I’m using, Android, Mobile, laptop, a current list is always available because all three devices sink constantly. I teach Android classes at the largest senior center here in San Francisco, and constantly recommend Todo. One feature I dearly love, is the ability to quickly use the microphone to dictate a task that gets added to my list instantly, and of course synchronized to my other devices. Everything is always up-to-date, and if I don’t finish a task it is shown as overdue, and I can easily move things ahead for a day, three days, or choose the date. It keeps my mind clear because everything is out of my head and in an app that helps me remember and accomplish more. There is a free version, which gives people a chance to try it before paying for a version with more features. I’m shocked at comments made by people who seem to be incensed that there’s a fee connected to amazing apps like this. As a past app developer, I do understand the logistics, and no app developer can possibly keep updating and paying the fees involved to keep it current. I considered one of the cheapest investments in my daily life. try it and you’ll become a believer, like me.
At some point recently, the Repeat feature became an expensive paid feature. Some if my repeated tasks disappeared after completion, so I wasn’t aware what was going on and lost tracking of a few tasks. Besides that, the app is overly complicated, I migrated everything to Reminders Google app and deleted Todo cloud.
I like the way the app is laid out - very easy to get to everything with just a tap or two, no “it takes five taps to delete a task” type things. From other reviews I see the app is undergoing a major revamp right now, which is probably why it seems kind of glitchy at the moment. A few weird things I noticed are that right now I can’t set a task start date in the future (dates after today are greyed out), and that if I create a new tag when creating a task the tag does not show anywhere on the task to confirm I successfully added it until after I finish task creation and click the task on the list. Hopefully these are just teething problems that will be fixed eventually. This isn’t going to be the todo list app I use for now, but I do like it. It has good features and they are in convenient, easy-to-access places. I’ll be checking back in the future to see how it’s doing. A few suggestions to the developers: 1. It would be nice to have more customization options for the Today widget so it will be more useful for people whose organization system isn’t deadline-oriented. Possibly the ability to name boxes and set criteria for what counts show in them (possibly connected to smart lists)? 2. It would also be nice to be able to create my own sections or make tag-based sections within lists. It looks like right now it can only do due-date and priority, but it would be nice to have a way to make sections for things like work-from-home vs. in-office tasks
Every time I open the app, it quits on me. Lately I’ve been able to quickly check off stuff, but I wasn’t even able to scroll through my todos as of yesterday. Please fix this!!!!
