    Aesop for Children Reviews

    • Great for teachers

I love using this app to teach theme to my fifth graders. They love the fables and are challenged to put the moral into their own words. I wish the fables were numbered in the contents so we could locate particular stories more easily.

    • Just what I was looking for!

This has it all: illustrations, elongated versions of the stories, and statements of the morals of each story. Thank you! I hope my child loves it as much as I do!

    • Great collection of classical stories!

I remember hearing a lot of these stories as a little kid. It's a great app if you like fable, and the illustrations are nice too. I have only a couple of minor complaints. Most significantly, The Wolf and the Shepherd is included twice, and some of the stories are missing pictures. On two of them, there are embedded videos, which unfortunately take up the full screen if you play them. And the animations on the pictures that you have to touch to start don't always play their sounds. Still, this is a great collection, a great app, and a great choice for the Library of Congress to display as work in the public domain. I'd like to see them do this with more classic works. Maybe some American literature?

    • Just enough sugar to help engage a child in reading, but without too many distractions

A wonderful way to read to a kid without too many distracting bells and whistles, but a little extra something that a regular book can't offer.
