Costco’s grocery prices may be great, but their understanding of technology is execrable. Their website is essentially a separate business that knows nothing about their warehouses, and now they’ve tried to tie them together with this joke of an app, featuring digital membership cards with dynamic QR codes—so you can’t check out when your local warehouse, like ours, has no cell reception inside—and a pay-with-app feature which offers no justification for its existence versus the easier, faster, sleeker, built-in Google Pay that the Costco Visa also supports. Costco should look for a bulk-purchase deal on some new retail tech infrastructure—maybe they can buy it from Sam’s Club…
You only see pdf versions of receipts, no way to search even with exact name of product- it pulls up pretty much anything except the product you want to find.
Don’t waste the time and effort that is required to add this application to your phone. Required the store to verify your account. It must be written in DOS as the app loads about as slow as molasses. Screen freezes, etc. on a brand new Android. Finallly gave up.
I try to limit my updates because they all add data. But when using the app I picked an item for greater information and it wouldn’t let me out of it when I didn’t add it to my list. I don’t need this nor do I need my Costco membership that much.
Frustrating app. Keeps deleting items in my shopping cart. Won’t update my shipping date, so I can’t confirm when my stuff’s coming.
