For my tot boys, who are just beginning to show an interest in "that other stuff mommy says," this is a cute "game." I like the simplicity of the single drawing on a solid background, ability to turn upbeat background music on/off, clear, native speaker recording (which repeats by hitting sound icon). The Japanese word, in Hiragana, appears as the recording says it - this has been surprisingly significant, as both my kids now recognize the characters. This did not happen with a very similar flash card app, where the word appeared on top as part of the entire page. I didn't realize this was going on until I turned off the autoplay on recording (another nice feature), and discovered kids were actually READING the characters as "clues!" Nice to be able to choose between American/British/Australian accents. Wish main menu had both languages. Super cute and great value for money! Thx.
Loved the kid-friendly look of this app but it won't even start up.
