Doesn't work on Catalina
I switched to this after the thumbnail app I had been using stopped being supported by Android. This program does a lot more than that one... usually. The problem is automatic updates are sent out that break the app. One day everything is fine and the next a bunch of file formats just stop working. I've been using this app for less than six months and it has already happened twice. If they could stop breaking it and maybe up the resolution (pixel/inch) on the output files, this app would be perfect.
Great little app that does just what is says. Movie Thumbnails Maker has a ton of user options for the output files. It works quickly and efficiently. As well, the developer is very responsive to input, took a simple suggestion and implimented the suggestion into the next build.
This provided thumbnails to a lot of old videos that my last app couldn't do, (mostly .flv).
Does exactly what it says, and it does it very well. If you have a video file that you need thumbnails of, thisâll handle it. But it has quirks. The first is that if you add too many videos, it will crash after awhile. But Iâm talking hundreds of videos - keep it under 100 at a time, and youâll be fine. It doesnât recognize .m4v as a video file, and canât work on them unless you change the extension to .mp4, which is a pain. I assume that the reason it ignores .m4v is that Googleâs protected videos use this file extension. If the program tries to work on a protected file, it crashes. I found this out when I batch-changed the extensions of a bunch of files, and then dragged them into Movie Thumbnails Maker. It crashed instantly, and it was because one of the files was protected. My wish would be that the program could identify and ignore protected files, and then tell you at the end that it had to skip them.
