I'm a programmer and needed a simple UI-based app for searching content within my programming files located in different folders on my disk. This program does just that. I can point it to a folder or the entire drive and give it a phase and it will display the file, path, and linenumber as well as the line containing the phrase. You can also show "context", the line before and after the ine with the phrase. It's not a fancy looking program, but is functional. I gave it 3 stars because of a bug and the lack of a useful feature. First the bug. For lines beginning with tabs, it forces a new line, which wraps the remainder of the line on the next line. If the line doesn't start off with a tab, everything is displayed on one line. For lines beginning with tabs, it messes up the display by taking up two lines. Sometimes you can prevent this by selecting the smallest font size and expanding the text window, but for some lines it always wraps, even when there is plenty of space to display everything on a single line. The missing feature that I would like to see is the ability to click on a line and go to the file in Finder. This is helpful when you're searching your entire disk and now need to go to the file itself. Another option is the ability to open the file with the associated application. Otherwise I like the program and find it very useful for my needs.
Useless for me, it does not take you to any file. Waste of time.
