Terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, this app and the the premises of blackouts is ridiculous. You pay a yearly subscription and try to watch the biggest rivalry in sports history and get grouped into a blackout zone and can’t watch it. I can watch anything that is not streamed in the awful city of Boston at garbage Fenway but having to pay a separate yearly subscription to use a VPN to get around these blackouts is wrong. MLB needs to get rid of blackout zones, nobody cares about the cable companys, this is the future.
Not worth the price, doesn’t even let you watch every game
This collection of Story video for today’s game was exceptionally poor. The video shows Carlson sliding in for an out but fails to convey the challenge that made him safe. Earlier the video covered the first STL run with a 1-second clip that showed nothing.
The app is now playing so many ads that when I get back to the game, it’s often a few outs into the following inning… I just got to hear ONLY the last two pitches of an inning, because the app thought it made more sense to play ads than to play the broadcast of the first two batters and many pitches to the third batter.
Currently, whenever I watch a game on my Samsung with Roku+, the image kind of flickers and skips every frame. Just deleted and re-installed app (can’t do it on your phone so have to laboriously type in user and pass) and problem still not fixed. Happens every couple of weeks, freakin annoying. Plus, takes forever to switch between windows. On Android, just doesn’t work like half the time, you get various error messages and so. And this is if you don’t use a VPN. If you do use a VPN, then it’s almost unusable because MLB values their blackout policy as almost sacrosanct and will spend whatever $$ necessary to encore it (I know as I’ve used at least a half dozen VPNs this yr, trying to find one that isn’t blocked). Plus, one of their best features, Condensed games, is negated by the fact that you have to watch it with y commercials on Android, so I just watch it on YouTube premium. Finally, on the weekends they’ve farmed certain games to Google TV, peacock and YouTube, so tou can’t watch them even if you have MLB.tv… woohoo! All these deficiencies were barely tolerable when I got Mlb for free under t-mobile. Now that I’m paying $130, this is pretty much robbery. Won’t be subscribing ever again.
