I would like to use the route planning options of this app but I can’t even sign in.
I’ve had my challenger for little over a month now. It has over 2500 miles on it and the app says it was updated 5 weeks ago and still shows mileage at 493 miles. It would be nice if this app worked as it should because it is a helpful tool.
This app is almost completely useless. The biggest selling point of the new Chief was a built in GPS. However the only feature the app needed to offer was to enter an address and start directions. YOU CANT DO THAT! Sure you can pick suggested rides, add set locations or see some current ride info but you literally can’t get texted an address, copy the address and start gps. Instead you have save it as a set place. At this point I am going to just mount my phone to the handlebars again … on a bike with navigation built in
UPDATE. So, now it is May of 2022 and the app has worked at best for about a three weeks in total of two years. Kuddos to the support for reaching out and trying to help, but nothing has worked. Uninstall and reinstall: Yup Log out and back in on phone: Yup Tried on Google: Yup Try on Android: Did that too Update firmwear: done twice Update app on phone: Yup, every time an update is available. Update phone firmware: Yup, tried that Try from desk top: Yup, tried that and nothing Rinse and repeat Other then throwing chicken bones in a bowl and doing some chants, I have done everything to make this work. Overall, It is useless and hasn’t justified the cost. To add insult to injury, Google car play will work for about 1/2 hour before it just suddenly disappears. Even thought the phone is connected and I can see the system sees the Android, I have to pull over, shut down the bike, do my magic dance between Bluetooth helmet, phone and ride command, and then the same thing happens half hour later (and yes, tried different cables, tried different Android….does it every time) I love my Indian, but the Included Ride Command is so bad, looking back at getting a BMW again. I just want it to work. By the way, the dealership says they can’t help with ride command, that I have to call Indian. Ride command writes and says take it to my dealer. Sort of feel like I am getting the run around. Great motorcycle, one of the best out there. Ride Command however is poorly implemented and very buggy. Indian should just include a waterproof garmin or something. Old Review: I am not sure what this app is doing. I have a 2021 Indian Challenger Blackhorse, and since I bought this, I have had nothing but problems with the dash board. I have had to uninstall and reinstall several times. I have logged out and logged back in several times. I cleaned out the memory. Turned on and off the phone. Cleared my phones (I tried both a Google Android and a Android Phone). I had ride command forget my phone and then re-pair it. No joy. No matter what I do, I cannot get the dash board to show up. I just get a picture of my bike that has “0 null null” above it. Even took it in for service today. Still nothing. Went to the website. No data. But when I turn on my bike all the data was there. But to give an idea, first bought the bike first week of feb, app didn’t work, one week later , app works. Two week after intermittent. I would constant have to log out and log back in but it would eventually show. No, for this past week, back to nothing. A big disappointment since this bike was incredibly expensive. At least it only took me a month to get Google car play to work. Not sure if updates are affecting this or what, but I hope they get it fixed soon.
It’s a really cool concept. It hardly ever connects. And when it does it only tell me my fuel level and battery. Mapping out a ride is extremely hard to make work. Would be an awesome app if Indian would put forth some effort.
