iPress for Android

I have The Scoring Machine, and use it regularly. It is very good and I have recommended it to several of my friends, who have bought it. But, I needed something with a little more capability than The Scoring Machine. My group of 4 has several bets going at the same time. First we play 9's, which the Scoring Machine does well on. But we also play a round robin, where we change partners every 6 holes, so that everyone plays with everyone else. We play using our full handicap index. The Scoring Machine will not track that part of our bet. We also play an individual best ball (net). You claim IPress clearly states it's capability in the App Store, but I suggest you re-read that. Plus I still have not found anything with detailed instructions on how to use it. Also, if I had read the reviews before I downloaded it, I would not have purchased it. Many of the comments were the same issues I have with it. Hard to figure out, no instructions, help screens address only those things I could easily figure out, etc. Plus the sales info specifically states it will track and score 6's (round robins). The fact that you can only see 2 players at a time is ridiculous. I think truth in advertising with this product can only be met when you state that this is not a tool for use on the course and can only be used in the 19th hole. Who wants to keep scores separately, then sit down and transfer everything to another program? No one I know. Why not just upgrade The Scoring Machine for the things IPress claims to do, but doesn't do in real time. First you have to re-enter all your info then play with player a vs player b; player a vs player c; player a vs player d, then the same with the twosomes and round robin??? Give me a break!

I am updating my review and raising my score to what the app deserves. I received a support email less than 24 hours of posting my original review. The app does everything as advertised, however buyer beware if you only play in 9 hole leagues, as all handicaps are designed around 18 holes. Bottom line is this: I would buy the app again, it has everything you need to make sure you peel all the money you deserve off your golfing buddies.

Very difficult and limited flexibility. Because of the difficulty in usability need a user book.

Don't waste your time. Hard to put teams together. Keeps giving me the lowest handicaps together. I don't find the instructions very good. Wasted money.

If you love golf and often have a friendly bet going on with your playing partners then this is the app for you. This app shows the entire hole-by-hole scores of a match (1 up, 2 up, etc.) and shows the results for any press bets that were made. It will do a round robin of matches without having to enter scores more than once and will do team competition like best ball vs best ball. I really liked that this app was able to look up my handicap from GHIN with just the click of a button. while it is easy to use, there is good "help" built in to the app. Initially, I needed to enter numbers from my home course scorecard but this is a one time thing. I am very pleased with the user friendly aspects of ipress and strongly recommend this Mobile app.
