After WD stopped supporting remote access for my My Cloud EX4, this app has become total useless now even for local access. It doesn’t even see my NAS anymore on same network. I can only access anything that’s on my NAS through the PC which is so inconvenient. Please fix this issue on this app to at least allow local access like you promised prior to dropping support for any OS 3 devices like mine.
Until 4-15-22 it was fantastic. Could always reach server from anywhere. Now, WD has dropped support, and crippled this in the interest of “security”. Bad move, WD. Why not let the phone app keep working locally? I never used the WD relay server— always port forwarding. Also, music downloaded to the app is no longer playable because the device is “offline”. This is unacceptable. Why not allow playback from the phone? Strangely, I have an older Android with this app which DOES connect to my LAN and play the music files. Sorry, WD. You’ve orphaned a great app.
MyCloud was working fine. WD decided it was time for me to buy a new one so they bricked it. They said it was a security issue and now I can’t access my data. I will never purchase another WD device or recommend them to anyone!
This is a terrible company. Their hardware is still working. A recent update meant the older MyClouds could not be accessed remotely Now it also cannot be accessed locally
I always have message: We have difficulties with our servers, please try again later! It’s so frustrating…I could before, but now it doesn’t work!
