Got me from 2 push-ups to 23 in 6 weeks. Wish there were a way to gradual increase if my goal is only 25, not 100.
What starts as a nice idea rapidly becomes an annoyance to use. The biggest issue is that it only tabulates push-ups. It makes no adjustment for individual progress. 5 minutes writing a spreadsheet would have been better.
This app is a bit confusing. It left me wondering: what do you mean? Consecutive push-ups? Does a break down on my elbows or into downward dog count? Because this was not clarified, on the tests I could either do 67 or 34, depending on how I counted. How low do you have to dip for it to count? I followed the regimen faithfully for 5 weeks, then broke my hand (unrelatedly) so I had to stop for two months. Went back at it for the full 6 weeks and still, by the time it said I was done and it should be easy to do 100, it was far from easy. They escalate too fast for me to keep up, and I am in pretty good shape. Maybe because I am female, but it seems a constant battle of 'am I doing this right?' And compromising form to keep up with the quickly increasing numbers. I'd suggest they make a version for folks with less testosterone that is over a longer period of time and builds more gradually, that focuses on good form. The only upside to this app is the tracking and graphs of your progress.
Simply love it
The app is OK (interface could use some work, but it's a good start), but the data doesn't match what is suggested on the website. For example, Tier 2, week 1 day 1 on the site says 6, 6, 4, 4, 5+. The app says 7, 7, 5, 5, 6+, an additional pushup per round. I guess the app is just pushing harder to get to fitness? All the same, I'd like it to be consistent.
