Truecaller: Caller ID Blocker for Android

It blocked one call, and then proceeded to let every other spam call through even when it was recognized as “Spam Risk”. Clearly they need to update their databases, or it simply doesn’t work.

I’ve been using this app since 2017. It WAS great. Now you can’t do anything unless you buy premium. You can’t even update the spam protection! It is time to delete the app and say thanks for 5 great years!!

Does not block the majority of the spam calls that it already has listed in its database as spam. Robokiller is a much better app to use unless your carrier does not support it. Save your money and get robokiller instead!

First let me say that there is essentially no free version. There is no functionality. If you live in the United States there are now NO SERVICE PROVIDERS AVAILABLE TO CHOOSE AND NO DEFAULT. Their support tickets are a joke, but they have known that this app is offering no support or protection for US users and even with premium we cannot get any protection because we can’t toggle the premium feature without HAVING A PROVIDER TO SELECT. Because my original ticket, even with actually conversation and screenshots, is STILL BEING REVIEWED tells me that these developers are horrible at their job and still can’t figure it out AND they don’t care about users because neither fixing the issue nor providing timely ticket updates OR refunds. I submitted another ticket since they were clearly not going to update me, to get a refund so I can get a call blocker than WORKS. I immediately received a reply from their support team- clearly automated- that addressed me as an android user and to contact the google play store! Now I KNOW they’re just no longer good at what they do- they probably sold as I can’t imagine these are the same people- because to submit you have to IDENTIFY YOUR PLATFORM- which, incidentally, doesn’t have a menu of platforms. It has devices. iOS wasn’t an option so I suppose Android is platform and it’s what I chose. And they’re so clueless that released this automated response email without giving it the ability to use the submission form properly so that identifies the Android choice and provides an automated response that is even applicable. BY THE WAY- IN THE APP STORE IF YOU LOOK AT IN-APP PURCHASES BEFORE INSTALLING AN APP, AS I DO- THERE ARE SEVERAL OPTIONS. BE AWARE THAT THEY DO NOT EVEN CARE ENOUGH TO UPDATE THEIR LISTING IN THE APP STORE. PREMIUM SILVER? WONDERING WHAT THAT IS??? WHAT IT IS, IS NON-EXISTENT. SEARCH THE WEB. THIS APP NOW OFFERS ZERO CALL PROTECTION TO ANY USERS IN THE US… THE CALLER ID FUNCTION IS USELESS FOR US USERS. The support team has proved to not be useful, period. This is absolutely, in the US, not a top 10 call blocking app or caller ID app. It doesn’t rank at all. In response: I’ve been back and forth with your customer service team on this via email. The answer I received was not satisfactory. I have been using truecaller with better results for a year. The excuse I received that this was because of an issue of service provider not participating and I need to contact them. If I didn’t use ATT maybe I’d have contacted them. Or if ANY providers populated on the list of providers. Or if the US was ever on the list of countries to select when reinstalled. But the United States isn’t even an option??? And for providers, there is NO default and nothing to choose from? No. This is an app issue. Not a me issue. Sadly, I let my subscription renew somehow, could have sworn I cancelled it. Maybe in the next year you’ll fix it. Fingers crossed. It was too much money to be throwing away. I know that I could probably get a refund. But it was such an excellent app before. Call me a stupid optimist but I don’t want to get a refund and have it cause complications, should you fix it because it was about the best call blocker out there, in my opinion, and I would be very upset if I asked for a refund and you fixed the issue in the next iOS. Perhaps you should make me a beta tester since I’m paying for it anyway and we could move things along. In any event, I’m definitely hoping that rather than blaming user error, which isn’t the case, that you took a look to figure out why there’s no list of US providers.
