I really like this app, as it provides the ease, functionality and control that I crave. Issue: When I use Turnover to post a BPM value to a track in the Music app, it occasionally interrupts playthrough of the track computerwide for a split second. This is not good if I'm playing for a group. I have not figured out if there is a pattern to this interruption, but it may be related to the 'Play sound with each tap' function being enabled.
I had a bpm counter on the old dashboard that no longer exists, and am using this one as a replacer. Works exactly as advertised, easy and to the point.
This works well for my use. I’ve found bmp finders in the past that calculate automatically and are just way too inaccurate so i prefer something i can tap out myself. I was annoyed with the sounds that this makes when you tap, until i realized that i could change the sounds (i just went to silent).
[UPDATED REVIEW 2016-06-07] Best way to manually tap BPM and save to iTunes. I still use it for every new song. Super easy to use, and an excellent floating player now. Please Do Not give this app poor ratings because it doesn’t do automatic detection of beats per minute! It is designed to do MANUAL beat-tapping; not automatic BPM detection (there are plenty of other apps to do that; none consistently well for all genres). [still true as of 2016 none of the automated BPM apps work very well except for music with a really obvious beat, like EDM] This app is for users who prefer to rate BPM manually, and Turnover has the best interface and mix of features for the job. Could use: [DONE] 1. support for iTunes optional half-star ratings (for users who have it enabled in iTunes), [DONE] 2. option to float the app window over all, keeping it on top of iTunes.
I’m very upset with this purchase. This app will not autmatically calculate the BPM while the song is playing. The user has to physically “tap” the keyboard as the song plays to figure out the BPM. Definitelly not efficient. I would highly encourge the developer to make the BPM calculattions automatic.
