Full version is terrible. Scanner function doesn't work. Another piece of garbage code pushed out by incapable developers. Google don't let the full version get onto the App store!!
Imported first PDF and it hung up the system with apparent indexing. It would not let me acknowedge the prompt that a file was added. The Android OS issued an error message that the app had crashed. I could not terminate it in any way (like with command Q or a normal system shut-down) other than holding down the power button until shut-off. Seemed like a good and promising idea from the intro video, but it did not deliver. Don't waste your time.
The foundation is there--I feel good about the document import and I like the interface, and am finding iDocument useful for going through everything I've tucked away and organizing, securing, and editing all that content. But there is still some klunkiness to what is overall a great interface. If I've collapsed one or more categories and delete a document in an uncollapsed category, don't make me re-collapse everything again. Allow for file types the tool doesn't recognize. Let me decide what they are and where I want them. I'm using network storage to host the repository, but file operations seem slow on an otherwise highly responsive network connection. I'm a fan of this tool and look forward to seeing it mature.
I've tried this lite vers., and also the trial of the full version. The search content feature doesn't appear to work. I.e., I have dozens of docs w/ the word "criminal" in them, but a search on that word returns nothing. Tried reimporting, creating new library, reinstalling… still no luck. I just shot an email to support. Will update review if I hear back, and the problem is solved. UPDATE: Received an email in 24 hours regarding the above problem -- was told it was a bug that has been identified, and will be remedied in the next "upgrade." Not a promising response.
Whatever you do, don't lay out the big money for this. It's a waste. This whole app is handled with Lion's and Mountain Lion's "All My Files" in Finder. Not to mention, the in-system support is miserable. Want to find a specific file to attach in Mail? In Snow Leopard you gotta get the library open and then search or dig through a load of hierarchies. If you're on Lion and up, yep, there's All My Files. You have to import files, which is a waste when you consider that All My Files "just works". Don't waste your money on buying the actual thing AND they won't give you your money back.
