It loaded fine on my 4s phone but I tapped the + and I am still waiting after 15 minutes for the puple pin to drop. I can't "Report a Problem" because Permusoft's web site is 'under construction' Plus it's got google ads running on the bottom of the screen. :( Don't waste your time with this!
Any chance that you're ever going to update this so that it actually works? If you've abandoned the project, at least remove it from the App Store.
Used this app for the first time on a geocaching puzzle cache. I loved it. I would have given it five stars if I could figure out exactly how to find them. Is there a range you need to be in?
All your info, both on the page here, and in the app is geared towards explaining how you place an Ethercache... but how do you FIND one? After the app located me, (which was nice and quick) I zoomed out... and out... and out... I don't see a single pin anywhere on Earth. How do I know where to go? Am I just supposed to keep the app open 24/7 no matter where I am? What is the range? Will I know when I'm within a mile? A tenth of a mile? I'm in NYC... surely SOMEONE has placed one of these things by now... but I'm not seeing it. I also wonder how I would know if someone finds something I placed. Or am I not supposed to care about that? I see no reason to place anything unless I can get a return. Throwing messages bottles into the ocean is only fun until you realize that no one is ever going to respond. I see some potential here, but no functionality yet.
I dig this idea and excited to see where it goes. I already envision exciting scavenger hunts with this, as well as lots of uses in geocaching. For now though, the app is a little too bare bones and I'm kind of in the dark about a few things. How close do I need to be to an ethercache to "see" it? Can they be deleted? Can they be commented on, kinda like leaving a message for the hider? Nice start on what could turn into a fantastic twist on hunting for treasure. I'll be patiently waiting for the next version...
