Keeps my metadata just the way I like it.
iFlicks is absolutely amazing. Quite simply the best app in its class and super simple and efficient. That is...when it actually works. Virtually every time you add more than a handful of files, you're guaranteed it'll crash. This has been an ongoing issue snce 3.x.x started and, despite countless complaints in similar reviews, the developer is either incapable of or indifferent to fixing it.
This program crashes quite often.... if you load in a folder which has a lot of nested subfolders, it will crash. Main reason seems to be that it has a huge memory leak. I queued up many videos and I'm watching the memory just get eaten up and eaten up without being freed. At one point it was using 8GB of RAM. As it finished and I removed files there, it never freed the memory. Looking for another program because I regret paying for this one in its current state. Also now, the program is reporting as not being compatible despite my having an M1. It was compatible and fine when I paid for it and got it in the store... I guess not now though.
When it works, it's great. All the metadata is handled very well and the database intergration is tops, but with enough control to do fine tune what you want. When it works. Of late there have been too many bugs, crashes and time outs. Litteraly have to restart the machine to get it back to working shape. Don't know what happened to this very good program.
This app works great most of the time (just an occasional crash when writing the metadata, nothing major). It doesn't affect the video files, it just doesn't save some of them when it crashes. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is that I can not get it to use the episode art from TheTVDatabase. It only offers season artwork and I have to manually drag and drop each episode artwork from the website. Perhaps I am missing something in the Preferences?? If it would do that I would definately give it 5 Stars.
