I depend on this app for my profession and for many other things. It is very easy to use and performs as advertised. It sets up with no fuss, it adopts all common files quickly without error and finds the records the way I want them to. It's works with my home and network seamlessly. I've been glad to watch CellicaDatabase improve the product which improves my information management. It's the best! You won't regret it. Take a little time to learn it. It's not hard. By the way some of the databases I use come from a DOS-based OS from 1999. CellicaDatabase has no problem importing it, using it and entering in / recalling records.
I'm in politics. I can create an Access DB and give it to several others with the enterprise version of this software and it self updates a single file by multiple users. About the only product that does so. The field widths can wander on the Mobile platform which does frustrate me; however, no other product can do this, and the Cellica team does constantly improve the product. Steve A.
Looks like it would be pretty cool, if it were possible to create forms besides the two "sales" templates, sadly that does not appear to be an option. Also, I have yet to figure out how to add or delete records for a new database without using a form. At best, this is horribly difficult to use with a steep learning curve; at worst, it is non-functional.
Like the product. The good: installs database and form to be used on Mobile. Work flawlessly even when offline. The bad: form is pretty utilitarian, no frills. Customer support is non-existent. I sent two emails to CS over 5 days ago and haven't heard anything.
I was looking for a gateway to a large business database. What this PC+Mobile app does is transfer the WHOLE database to the Mobile so you can access it independent of a PC-hosted version of it. Interestingly enough, there is another server in the picture - when you set up e connection with the desktop it isn't necessary to really connect the Mobile to the PC. Apparently the vendor's server sorts the out with the UDID of the Mobile and joins them up. I suspect the synchronization works even if the PC isn't currently running. One huge problem in a multi-user environment is there are no "locks" on altered records. This means that a user with this can make changes to the data that other users will no see until a successful synchronization occurs. I can't say I spent a lot of time playing with this, but as far as I got it seems to work fine. For smallish databases, this seems like a good idea. For a large business database this is completely unworkable.
