    DVDpedia Reviews

    • Can not find By Bar Code Search

This app is useless unless it can actually do a barcode search and come up with reasonable results the majority of the time! I don't expect perfection but in my attempts of scanning barcodes I am getting useless results every single time! I scan the same items on different apps and have no problems finding the movies! I used to use this app and appreciated it's eas eof use then several years ago this issue arose and upon checking back today it seems to not have been fixed. Be wanred - unless you want to add everything manually.... go elsewhere!

    • Best option I’ve found on the Mac

After seeing the tiny number of reviews, most of them poor, I realized I should leave one. Moved to DVDPedia after Delicious Library moved to version 2 (which was an absolute mess). Tried every option I could find, and settled on this. I’ve been using it for over 5 years now, and it’s a decent organizing and library tool. Helps keep several thousand titles (including my ancient laserdiscs!) findable.

    • Doesn’t Do Anything.

Doesn’t work like previous versions. Can’t import from iTunes. Stinks. Demanding a refund.

    • If I am wrong, I will apologize

I wasted my money on this. Its great to have all this information about each item. However, it is useless unless you can find the item. I have found no means to input a location, numbering, or some other way lo locate the desired item. With several thousand items, that is a major concern, and really the only reason I purchased this app.I have recently migrated from windows to Google OS and of course cannot use Ant Movie List, which I have used for a very long time. As yet I have been unable to import my files to any degree of satisfaction. If anyone has a solution, I am open to suggestions. Update: My apology, I spoke a bit too soon. After receiving some advice from the developer, I have since managed to import my files from Ant Movie Catalog, clean up a few errors and complete a backup. After learning more about the app, I would certainly recommend it. I will say though that it can be a bit intimidating at first. Thanks to the developer for the opportunity make amends for a bad review.

    • An unreliable pale shadow of Bookpedia

I have been using Bookpedia for years and have been quite happy with it. Bookpedia pretty much does what I expect it to and allows manual entry of product codes. DVDpedia does neither. Worse yet, the current version frequently hangs showing “not responding” in system status. When it does work, it appears to be increadibly slow. Yes, my network connection is working just fine. I have over 15Mbps available to me, and I am currently listening to streaming audio. (Yes, DVDpedia is failing when I am not running iTunes.) My network connection is not down. For some unfathonable reason, DVDpedia does not search Amazon and does not appear to be able to deal with Region 0 DVDs. I doubt that it will fuction with region 2 DVDs or any other non-American/Canadian region number. Note. I have a 13 in Android Retna that I bought less than a month ago.
