I downloaded this app, but basically there is nothing available to you unless you "unlock" (i.e., purchase) some feature or features. Frankly, you can just get the Kyoto official city tourist map from your hotel or the tourist office, and do fine.
Did not even work
Spend your money elsewhere, this app is useless. The map did not function. If you dragged it, it becomes a set of disconnected tiles that is useless. Place markers move independently of the map when you drag.
Went on my first trip to Japan, and of course thought "this is where my Mobile will really be handy". This map was garbage - if you zoomed in there was little actual detail - many streets unlabeled, and many streets just labeled in characters. I wound up using a paper map that a friend loaned me.
This is rubbish...where is the detail in the map..zoom in to blank streets...what is the point of that...Restaurants?...Ha!..ridiculous information...you had better be able to read Japanese and then have a magic wand to figure out where anything is much less yourself...this app is nonsense!...Who at Google reviews these things?...You would be better off getting the Lonely Planet guide for Android or iTouch...for some reason it does not install on the Mobile as yet...
