    11 things about Linpack

    1. The solution is obtained by Gaussian elimination with partial pivoting, with 2/3·N3 + 2·N2 floating point operations.

    2. The result is reported in millions of floating point operations per second (MFLOP/s, sometimes simply called FLOPS).

    3. The LINPACK Benchmarks are a measure of a system's floating point computing power.

    4. Millions of floating point operations per second.

    5. A floating point operation here is a floating point addition or a floating point multiplication with 64 bit operands.

    6. The relative machine precision usually the smallest positive number such that fl( 1.0 - eps ) < 1.0, where fl denotes the computed value and eps is the relative machine precision.

    7. They measure how fast a computer solves a dense N by N system of linear equations Ax = b, which is a common task in engineering.

    8. A check is made to show that the computed solution is correct.

    9. If this quantity is much larger than 1, the solution is probably incorrect.

    10. The Norm Res should be about O(1) in size.

    11. eps) where eps is described below.

    • It's a good hand warmer

Take your phone out of the case and set 99999 runs and watch the heat generate

    • Incorrect results and crashes

A problem size of 4096 reports 170 GFLOPS on an Android 5. 8192 causes a crash.

    • Nice- exactly what I was looking for

I'm consistently getting 112mflops average. Just wanted to see my CPU speed. I noticed I get higher mflops when using multiples of 8, like 256, 512, 768 etc. So I used all kinds of odd numbers and my A5 is pretty solid for being an A5. I noticed the ads pause during test- this is the way a benchmark app should run.

    • Awesome app!

This app is a great way to push my A7 chip to its highest performance, I wish there were more apps like this for CPU nerds like me. I have used it on every gen SoC Google has used, great app to me!
