Fantasic app. It would be so much easier to play with an actual practice set or the Mobile uilleann app (also fantastic) if there was a "full size" version of this for the Mobile. I'd buy it in a heartbeat. Not that this isn't a good app; it's just kind of impractical considering the size of the Android screen. Please consider making the Mobile version!
I would love to see a chanter interface to go along with this. I realize you have one that looks like a piano. It would be cool to record the one while playing the other. Tutorials would be nice too. It's a neat app worth .99 cents just for the annoyance it gives to my Bonnie lass!
I have had the opportunity to spend a fair bit of time working with 4QuarterSet. I suppose the first thing that comes to mind is how basically *neat* the thing is. It is an elegant and beautiful app. The new feature allowing the user to tune the drones and regulators is amazingly useful. I have compared the sound of the regulators in the app to 'real' recorded regulators, and there is no discernible difference in sound quality whatsoever, an amazing accomplishment. It's great for pipers to be able to use, and perhaps even more interesting in that it can give non-pipers some insight into how the regulators work, and therefore more understanding of the uilleann pipes in general. The designer is clearly engaged in a labor of love. A great little app. Kieran O'Hare
This app is precisely as advertised. If you want several sets of uilleann pipe drones and regs for less than the cost of an SUV, this is it. There's no sensible complaint left to be made, so here are a few senseless ones: it can't shingle my roof. It can't tell off-color jokes. It won't engage in a melee with my Scottish bagpipe apps, also by the talented Mr. Eskin. If you've read this review, that means you want 4quarterset.
I really like this app. Will be using it with one of my bands for live gigs and recordings. Keep up the good work.
