This product is just as good as Foreflight from what I have experienced, but the biggest differentiator is that your subscription allows you to install on up to three devices, and that includes Android in addition to Google. All the sync functions work in that configuration also. Support is outstanding from the Garmin Pilot team also.
Pretty much everything on the app functions correctly except for one thing, and it’s very broken. When creating a trip, if you go to the weight and balance tab within trip planning, and try to load in a saved configuration, it does nothing. I’ve tried many ways to get it to populate the data, and it just won’t do it. I’ve gotten it to work on my android phone, so I know how the feature is supposed to work, but it just doesn’t. Please fix this if you want me to increase my rating.
I have a Android 13 pro and shortly after take off in my rv-9, which has a bright cockpit, the screen will dim so much that the app unusable. I've tried changing or adjusting every possible setting to no avail. I don't know if Garmin is at fault or Google but this combo simply does not work in bright environments.
Works great with my Garmin suite. I have dual G600txi with a GTN750/650. I use a Flight stream 510 to pair my Mobile. Works great on my 414. I also use the App with helicopters utilizing a GDL50. I have the need to fly directly to street addresses. Since Garmin doesn’t allow this function I had to purchase ForeFlight as well. I wish Garmin would add this capability.
A very good update. But they removed all of the intersections/fixes for some reason. Some of the primary ones are in there but for routing purposes, and feeding them into aircraft the GPS you have to guess or create your own waypoint. There’s not even a suggestion of the closest ones. Still needs a profile view for approaches.
