NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth News for Android

The News portion works great. Easy to access and read. The weather portion is super frustrating. It almost never loads. Just a spinning circle FOREVER!! When it does load, the font is super small and the gray color font is hard to read. Would love to see a bigger font and black color instead of gray.

This app is crazy the radar or the charts DO not load up on my Android I’ve reloaded the stupid app and I close the stupid app and open again 2-3 times still doesn’t work y’all need to more work in this I really like this app but y’all need to take safety more serious by making this app more available

The app is great and gets out good information but it never loads. I get notifications about the weather but when I open the app to look it’s just forever loading… this is the only app I like to rely on as the radar is super accurate which is VERY important during tornado season but every time I open it it never seems to work anymore.

I have used Channel 5’s app since moving to DFW in 2016. Suddenly, their new app is useless. Who wants to be stuck with the radar screen covering half of the weather page all the time? It’s impossible to see the hourly forecast. I love the weather people and will miss them. But this app is impossible to use and unfortunately I’m moving over to the channel 11 app for the storm season. Let me know when this is fixed!

The last 2-3 updates have completely made the app unusable. For pretext I set up my app to load in the weather section with what used to be a “live radar,” the NBC 5 radar. Since NBC DFW owns and operates their own radar it means that they are able to directly publish new radar data every minute. This is what brought me to the app, as nbc’s data will be the most updated and reliable source. About one or two updates ago some change made the radar almost unusable and seemed to inhibit the app refreshing and loading new data. The most recent update has actually made the app unusable, nothing is loading in! I constantly get a “URLSessionTask failed with error: The request timed out.” on my screen before the app can even load in one piece of data. I’ve forced the app closed multiple times to reopen it to no avail and have uninstalled twice now as well. NBC 5 your app just kept getting worse over time and you finally have tried to kill it. Hopefully your dev team can get stuff back on track. P.s. like lots of other comments, GET RID OF THE ADS DURING BREAKING NEWS OR WEATHER EVENTS. K thx byeee.
