This is THE BEST app to use to start running. My only complaint is that it is not available for my watch and is not updated. I fear that it will at some point not be useable for my Android. Please keep it current!
my first week day 1 on 1st feb 2012. That day I never thought I would even run 5 minutes ever. Kept on doing it week after week (in 19F temperature too). Completed 5k in 9 weeks. It really works. voice prompt are very well done.

I am a “graduate” of this app but I keep coming back because of injuries, laziness, etc. I have had it on iPod touches, Android phones and now on a new Android 12. The coach’s voice is very encouraging, it works very well with basically any music app and it doesn’t judge when you miss a day. The fact that it’s 100% free with no ads and just works is AMAZING. This is the best running app (and I have run 5ks with this app).
