Look at the version history. This app was updated 5 years ago. Meanwhile Indigo began a subscription model years ago. So now you’re locked into paying yearly for Indigo and this app which literally still doesn’t fill any Android screen larger than an 8. Indigo is a small operation which does what it does well and the developers are smart, helpful and responsive. But I really think it’s shameful how little attention this app has gotten. They say they users would rather they focus on voice control through Alexa/Siri etc but, even all these years later, the interface for smart assistants is both tricky and rudimentary. And in the meantime this app is woefully outdated. It works but there are no widgets, no Siri or Shortcuts hooks, nothing worthy of a modern home automation system. It’s a total drag.
We have relied on this app ever since it became available. From our phones we run lights, alarms, irrigation, and more. It is nicely designed and is well-supported.
I have been using Indigo with Insteon devices for almost 10 years. It’s always been fantastic. I love the community providing plug-ins for many different sources. I’m not much of a programmer but this tool has allowed me to be so creative in setting scenes and scenarios to act upon. I have to say I am shocked that some bigger company has not swallowed them up.
This App will not work with Google’s latest software release.
Indigo remains one of the most capable home automation systems available. I hope it can have a rebirth to expand capability to Matter compatible products of the future. This system can easily be configured to work 100% locally. Allowing only its owner to know who does what when.
